Workshop Description
The Attachment Injury Resolution Model (AIRM) is designed for clinicians with foundational knowledge of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). AIRM is a Stage 2, evidence-based process within EFT that focuses on helping couples repair and heal from deep relational injuries—such as infidelity, betrayal, or emotional neglect.
This interactive workshop, based on the AIRM program developed by Dr. Lillian Buchanan and Lorrie Brubacher, will guide participants step-by-step through the 8 stages of AIRM. Dr. Herman Chow will break down the complex AIRM—built on successful Stage 1 de-escalation and withdrawer engagement—into accessible and applicable interventions.
If you're working with couples who are stuck in painful loops stemming from unresolved injuries, this workshop will offer you a roadmap to navigate these challenges effectively.
Teaching methods include clear didactic instructions and clinical video demonstrations.

What You’ll Learn
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

1. Define and identify attachment injuries in couples
2. Understand and apply the key elements of EFT Stage 2 work
3. Implement the 8 steps of the Attachment Injury Resolution Model (AIRM)
4. Integrate the EFT Tango and core interventions throughout the AIRM process

• Therapists working with couples with attachment injuries (psychotherapists, marriage and family therapists, psychologists, clergy, etc.)
• Newer EFT clinicians seeking structured, step-by-step guidance on AIRM
• Seasoned EFT therapists looking to deepen their Stage 2 and attachment injury resolution skills

Continuing Education
The Canadian Association for Couple and Family Therapy (CACFT) has approved this workshop for 7 Continuing Education Hours. These hours may also be applicable for CE requirements with associations such as AAMFT and regulatory bodies like CRPO.

Fees

• Regular Fee: $170 CAD
• Early Bird Rate: $155 CAD (register on or before August 4, 2025)
• Full-Time Student Rate: $80 CAD
• Refresher Rate: $50 CAD (for Dr Chow’s past AIRM workshop attendees)
