After the first 5 EFCT sessions - Part 2 (The EFT Tango), 3 hours
“EFT Stage 1: After the First 5 Sessions (Part 2)” is the third instalment of the Online EFT specialty workshops series that will help you hone in your EFT skills. This 3 hour video is for participants who have some working knowledge of EFT. In this workshop, you will learn practical strategies in counselling couples in Stage 1. Stage 1 includes: Building an alliance with the couple, tracking and deepen the cycle, accessing emotions that drive the cycle, and de-escalating the conflict by reframe the problem to the dance.
In this third instalment, we will focus on session 6 and subsequent sessions in Stage 1. The goal of Stage 1 is to help couples own their dance, de-escalate their intensity of their conflict, and preparing them for Stage 2 work.
Because there is so much going on in Stage 1, this segment is broken into Part 1 and Part 2. In this workshop (i.e. Part 2), we will focus on the EFT Tango, specific EFT techniques (e.g. reflection, validation, focus on emotion, empathetic conjecture, etc.), and key indicators telling therapists they are ready to move towards Stage 2 work. Teaching methods will include short concise teachings, video clips, and demonstrations.
Emotionally Focused Therapy is a systemic model created by Dr. Sue Johnson. Research finds that 70-75% of couples move from distress to recovery and approximately 90% shows significant improvement.
The workshop will:
- Focus on key techniques relevant to stage 1, such as, reflection, validation, conjecture
- Teach you how to do the EFT Tango
- Sharpen your skills in Stage 1 enactments
- Examine the key indicators in moving to Stage 2 work
