ONLINE EMOTIONALLY FOCUSED THERAPY (EFT) SPECIALITY WORKSHOP: EFT Stage 1- After the First 5 Sessions (Part 2)Mar 6, 2021 9:30 am-12:30 pm EST Description “EFT Stage 1: After the First 5 Sessions (Part 2)” is the third instalment of the Online EFT speciality workshops series that will help you hone in your EFT skills. This is for participants who have some working knowledge of EFT. In this workshop, you will learn practical strategies in counselling couples in Stage 1. Stage 1 includes: Building an alliance with the couple, tracking and deepen the cycle, accessing emotions that drive the cycle, and de-escalating the conflict by reframe the problem to the dance. In this second instalment, we will focus on session 6 and subsequent sessions in Stage 1. The goal of Stage 1 is to help couples own their dance, de-escalate their intensity of their conflict, and preparing them for Stage 2 work. Because there is so much going on in Stage 1, this segment is broken into Part 1 and Part 2. Part 1 was offered earlier (If you missed it, don’t worry, you can purchase the recording – available after Jan 20, 2021). In this workshop (i.e. Part 2), we will focus on the EFT Tango, specific EFT techniques (e.g. reflection, validation, focus on emotion, empathetic conjecture, etc.), and key indicators telling therapists they are ready to move towards Stage 2 work. Teaching methods will include short concise teachings, video clips, demonstrations, and role plays. Emotionally Focused Therapy is a systemic model created by Dr. Sue Johnson. Research finds that 70-75% of couples move from distress to recovery and approximately 90% shows significant improvement. The workshop will:

Who should attend Anyone who works with couples using EFT, e.g. psychotherapists, couple and family therapists, psychologists, pastors, etc. Any novice EFT therapist who wants step by step instruction of doing EFT Stage 1 work Any seasoned EFT therapist who wants to solidify and clarify their understanding of EFT Stage 1 work Canadian Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (CAMFT) has approved 3 hours of Continued Education Hours for this training. You can most likely use the 3 hours towards the Continued Education requirement of your Associations (e.g. CAMFT, AAMFT) and Colleges (e.g. CRPO). Fee The regular fee is $75 Cdn ($60 US) per person.
